In Moldova, where anti-democratic practices against the media, opposition and autonomous regions are increasing, the centre established under the leadership of Stanislav Pavlovschi, former Minister of Justice and Judge of the European Union Human Rights Court, will work to draw attention to these practices at the international level.

In the statement made by the Centre; “Our Centre will carry out activities that will emphasise and draw attention to the need for democracy and human rights in Moldova, which has made anti-democratic practices on numerous issues such as the closure of the Shor and Change Parties in recent years, the political banning of candidates from these parties in local elections, and the closure of many televisions and newspapers.”

On 17 April, the inaugural event in New York will be attended by human rights experts, lawyers and journalists. “The establishment of the International Centre for the Protection of Human Rights and Democracy is an important step in our commitment to justice, democracy and human rights.
